Hi Jonny Thanks for a great interview with Michael very interesting listening to him he is a real character and knowledgeable with plenty of life experience which is very important. I’ve also got my retirement visa recently and spending most my time in Hua Hin which I love and great place. I’ve lived in Australia for over 45 years and traveled all over the world and hope to do more in the future more of Europe and Asia. My dear father use to say to me son “ You Know What’s Wrong With Common Sense “ ( It’s Not Very Common ) 😂 I hope one day I run into Michael and his lovely wife they seem like good couple. Another Insurance for retiring Federal Employees is AFSPA. It is the American Foreign Service Benefit Plan. It’s cheaper than Blue Cross and pays overseas as if the person is in network in the U.S. The caveats are, not every Federal Employee qualifies, but more do than one might think. The second issue, is the employee must have it at least 1 year while working, or they can’t get it in retirement. I’d implore any Federal Employee to go to the AFSPA website and see if they qualify. It uses the Aetna network in the U.S. and pays direct reimbursement overseas. I only expected to carry it for the qualifying year and switch back to Blue Cross. However, I’ve kept for 6 years as I find AFSPA superior in cost and service to Blue Cross.

I pay 800€ for tiny appartment and after that i have 1100€/month and i barely manage to stay alive here (just the fuel costs 2,50€/l). I think i might just go and live in Thailand. This seems like i could manage to live just fine with 1900€ (2100USD) per month🤩
